The farm has recently been returned to its 'Wine Farm' origins with the newly planted vines soon to produce the first harvest which will be processed in the restored wine cellar. Only ten minutes walk from Franschhoek village, the gourmet centre of South Africa, Bo La Motte Wine Farm has four beautifully furnished self-catering cottages, all in their own unique settings around the farm.Bo La Motte, one of the historical Huguenot farms, has three charming, fully equipped, self-catering cottages for the perfect escape. Ten (10) minute walk to Franschhoek centre.

Each cottage has its own idyllic setting, either nestled amongst the vines or overlooking the dams. They are furnished to a high standard and have complete kitchens fully equipped for self-catering. The lounges have large comfy sofas, TV, DVD and open fire places for the cooler winter evenings whilst the bedrooms are either of a twin or double bed configuration.

Each cottage has both bath and shower facilities and all towels and linen required for use in the cottages, is provided. All cottages have sufficient room for an additional child’s bed or baby cot. The cottages are serviced daily. Laundry and babysitting services are available on request. We have a swimming pool for guests' use, although you are also welcome to swim in the dams. All children must be supervised when in, or around the pool/dams and guests are reminded that you swim entirely at your own risk.

Wine Farm

The farm is one of the original nine Huguenot farms and has been recently restored and returned to its’ ‘Wine Farm’ origins - visitors are fully welcome to stroll around the cellar and sample some of the wines produced not only on this farm but also from small vineyards and boutique cellars in the area.

Activities

For those with an adventurous streak, Franschhoek valley also offers a number of activities such as horse riding, paragliding, helicopter trips walking trails and mountain biking, or for those wanting a purely relaxing theme there’s fly-fishing, wine tasting and numerous health spas for the ultimate pamper sessions - choose your fancy and let us help you organise it.

Guests to Bo La Motte can choose to relax around the farm, take a swim in the pool or picnic around one of the four dams (one of which is stocked with trout for the keen fishermen) or if feeling more energetic take the ten minute stroll into the village to sample some of the gourmet fare offered by one of the many restaurants.

Directions

Directions From Cape Town * Take the N1 north, towards Paarl. * Turn off at exit 47 ("Stellenbosch, Klapmuts, Wellington"). * At the end of the off-ramp, turn right. * After approximately 150m, you come to a stop sign - go straight across. * 100m further, turn left (signposted for Franschhoek). * Follow this road for ±10km, until you reach a T-junction. * Turn right. * This road takes you directly into Franschhoek (±18km). Within Franschhoek * The R45 becomes the main road through Franschhoek. * Drive through the village until you reach the monument. * Turn right at the monument. * After approximately 50m, turn 1st left into Middagkrans Road (this road is un-tarred for the first 200m). * When the tarred section starts, continue for ± 200m, then turn right immediately after Woodend cottage. * Follow this road to the farmhouse and office (±300m).
