We are situated in a quiet, top residential area, high above Somerset West. A variety of excellent restaurants is only minutes away. We are surrounded by a choice of world class golf courses as well as internationally acclaimed wine estates.

Even though African Dreams is a selfcatering establishment we gladly serve breakfast in the privacy of your apartment or on the terrace, should you wish to avail yourself of our B&B offer on request.

We also arrange airport shuttles, trips, excursions and tours and happily share our more than 20 years of S.A. experience with our guests and invite you to come and enjoy our South African / German hospitality.

Please note even though a non-smoking environment, guests are welcome to smoke outdoors. Furthermore, due to stairs, not suitable for frail guests.

Accommodation

The main house displays a modern contemporary African ambience and is decorated with artefacts and original African Art which has lovingly been collected over many years by the owners who live in the guest house permanently. Breakfast is also personally prepared and offers an array of South African and Continental delicacies and is either served on the patio with beautiful long distance views or enjoyed on the terrace at the swimming pool in summer. In winter breakfast is served in the heated dining room with views over Somerset West.

GECKO SUITE/ APARTMENT 

The Gecko Apartment is located on the garden-level, down a set of stairs, facing the sea. It is a very comfortable 60m2 open plan contemporary African styled suite with Queen size bed, walk-in cupboard with safe plus a large en-suite bathroom with shower plus a luxurious corner bath. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, oven and stove, fridge/freezer as well as automatic espresso and cappuccino machine as well as small appliances such as toaster, kettle and coffee maker.

A dining area for 4 plus a full lounge with comfortable chairs and sofa offering Satellite TV and German TV on request. A large covered patio with grill area leads off from the lounge with beautiful views of the garden and the surrounding areas.  

ZEBRA SUITE / APARTMENT (Sleeps 4)

The Zebra Apartment is also on the garden-level, down a set of stairs. It is located on the western-side of the property, adjoining the ‘green-belt area’ next to AFRICAN DREAMS, which is the home to various bird species. It is a large 65m2 two-room apartment in an elegant African style, separate bedroom with Queen size bed plus en-suite bathroom (shower plus luxury corner bath). The open plan lounge/dinging area has a sleeper couch where a youngster could sleep. This unit also offers Satellite TV and the choice of German TV on request. The kitchen is very well equipped with high quality crockery and cutlery, oven and stove, microwave, small electrical appliances plus an automatic espresso and cappuccino machine.

A large covered patio area with grill possibilities, lead off from the lounge and enjoys beautiful views over the village, the mountains and the sea. A lovely tropical private garden with lush green lawn forms part of your private garden where you can relax and soak in the African Sun and enjoy listening to the bird-life. Prices quoted are based on 1 – 2 people sharing – additional person/s may be charged extra.  

THE SENUFO PENTHOUSE (Sleeps 4)

Due to the slope of the land, this modern Penthouse (55m2) is located at the entrance level of AFRICAN DREAMS and no stairs need to be climbed! It towers high above the property and faces False Bay, the mountains, vineyards and it over-looks Somerset West right to Gordons’ Bay and the Strand. Simply enjoy spectacular views from every corner and be surrounded by comfort and luxury.

The bedroom area has twin beds overlooking Somerset West and the sea. The lounge area has comfortable tub charis and a sleeper couch to accommodate additional guests. It also offers Satellite TV and German TV on request. The modern bathroom has a large shower with wonderful views! There is a very well equipped kitchen, with stove, microwave and an automatic espresso and cappuccino machine. A covered terrace and grill area, with seating for 4 leads off the dining area. Prices quoted are for 1 - 2 people sharing - additional person/s sharing may be charged extra.

AFRICAN DREAMS is a mere 5 minutes from Erinvale Golf Course, Vergelegen Wine Estate and the Helderberg Nature Reserve with its abundant Fauna and Flora. We are only 10 minutes from kilometer-long sandy beaches, less than 15 minutes from historic Stellenbosch, 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and 30 minutes to Cape Town Centre.
