Gunther and Balbina, would like to welcome you with their team. Feel the very special aura in our beautiful stylish old Cape Dutch House, within walking distance to the centre of town, where you can find the South African spirit with a Bavarian heart.

MEET your German hosts at the "Stammtisch" in our stylish Reception room, in the Bavarian Stube or on the wine terrace.

Gunther, the German master head chef, and Balbina would like to welcome you with their team for a fine dining experience, served on wonderful porcelain in a beautiful surrounding. We offer a light fresh Mediterranean kitchen, pasta, wok dishes, Bavarian and Swabian specialities and of course a braai in the garden. Start with a cocktail or a Erdinger Weissbier and complete your menu with excellent wines from the Robertson Wine Valley, served in extraordinary glasses from Schott Zwiesel.

SLEEP well in one of our 4 extraordinary cosy theme rooms. Tall people will find oversized beds 2 x 2,20 and for your convenience you can expect good lighting, high quality bedding, safe parking, splash pool in a huge garden. German TV and internet facilities on request. You can expect a **** service.

Accommodation

GUBAS DE HOEK is the 'feel good’ guesthouse with a green touch in Robertson. In the Heart of the Cape Winelands and Route 62 - where you can expect so much more than just a bed and a breakfast.

All eight rooms are en suite with bath or shower, hairdryer, wall safe, international power points, TV, magazines, books, tea tray, fans, electric heating and are furnished in different themes.

The four garden rooms are with a walk in shower, extra length double / twin beds, separate entrance with a terrace and three of them are for physically handicapped people.

Wine room has a bathroom with a door leading to the garden and an antique
Cape Dutch Style double bed. The TV is in the lounge next door.

Africa room is with shower, double / twin beds, separate entrance with a
terrace and can be combined to a family room.

Honeymoon, has an open bathroom, an extra huge double bed, 2.00 x 2.20 m, a mini bar, a separate entrance room with a possibility for two extra beds and is full of hearts and roses.

Bavaria room is with shower, extra length double / twin beds, (1.00 x 2.10m),
separate entrance with a terrace.

The Robertson Wine Valley represents more than 50 wineries from Ashton, Bonnievale, Montagu Mc Gregor and Robertson among them big cellars and small family owned estates. They offer all free wine tasting. We can gladly organise wine tours and barrel tasting with the winemaker, for those, who do not want to drink and drive.

Directions

GuBas-DeHoek ****meet, eat, sleep is situated 180 km from Cape Town and 1 ½ hour to the airport. Follow in direction to the N1 to Worcester, take the R 60 to Robertson. Coming from the Garden Route N2, take the turnoff Swellendam, follow the road to Ashton (R 60 N15), on to Robertson and stay on the main road until you see the sign of the Standard Bank Reitzstreet / Tourism Office. Turn into Reitz Street and follow for 700 m. You have reached GuBas-DeHoek. Welcome home!
